Veteran Support
We are proud to provide care, support, advocacy and education to Veterans and their families who are impacted by serious illness and loss.
We Honor and Support Veterans
Since 1978, Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo has cared for thousands of Veterans. In addition to providing expert clinical care, the emotional and spiritual components of hospice care can be especially meaningful to Veterans. We are honored to serve Veterans by providing specialized, compassionate care to meet their unique needs at the end of life, and to commemorate their sacrifices in meaningful ways. We also recognize that the family, caregivers and loved ones of Veterans need our support. Our team of healthcare professionals are specially trained to support the difficult circumstances facing Veterans with serious illness, including:
- financial and benefit concerns
- stresses and side-effects from serving in combat
- unresolved emotional, psychological and spiritual issues commonly associated with military service
Our Partnerships
Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo is a proud member of We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This program is focused on the care, respect and grateful acknowledgment of all Veterans.
Our team collaborates closely with the VA Medical Center, Veteran service groups and other community organizations to help care for Veterans facing serious, life-limiting illness.
Hospice Veterans Partnership
We are a proud member of the Hospice Veterans Partnership in collaboration with other hospice organizations and the VA. Goals of the partnership include:
• Improving access to care for all Veterans
• Educating the Veteran community about the hospice benefit and services
• Individualizing care plans specific to the unique needs of each Veteran and their family
• Connecting Veterans and their loved ones with community resources
• Acknowledging military service and commitments
